Where the History of Canada's Navy Comes Alive!

Our Hours

The Museum is curently open for visitors on Wednesdays between the hours of 9 AM and 3 PM.

We will also be open this summer, from from 2 Jul 06 to 3 Sep 06 on Sundays from 1:00PM to 4:00 PM

We will also make a special effort to open for any special groups that wish to visit the museum. Please contact our curator to make an appointment.

The public is able to gain access to the museum, which is located in the HMCS CHIPPAWA building, by entering through the south door. There is a doorbell/buzzer that must be used to gain entry to the museum.

The HMCS CHIPPAWA building is located at 1 Navy Way which is on the corner of Assiniboine Avenue and Navy Way in downtown Winnipeg.

The Naval Museum of Manitoba has been undergoing a refit.

This is very exciting news, as we will finally be getting the type of facility which will be able to house our extensive collection. However, we will not be officially open until this refit is completed, and a great deal of our collection is still in storage. The new CHIPPAWA building was completed in the Fall of 1999. The Museum's Grand Opening has not been scheduled yet. We have to do additional fund-raising before we can officially open our doors. We will be providing information at this site as it becomes available. Thank you for your understanding and patience.
