HMCS OJIBWA, an OBERON Class
submarine which was
named after Manitoban first-nations peoples,
served the Navy from 1965 to 1998.
The Story of HMCS OJIBWA
Commissioned on September
23rd 1965, OJIBWA was Canada's first submarine built to
order by the RCN. She served proudly with the the 1st
Canadian Submarine Squadron based in Halifax until she
was paid off in 1998.
